Coming to America – Immigrant Research

November 5, 2022 @ 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Free

At the beginning of every American family is an immigrant ancestor. This person may be in the remote past, or just one generation back. America was created by immigrants…people who came here from someplace else.  They, and their descendants, have built the incredible civilization that continues to draw immigrants from all over the world.

For people engaged in family tree research, finding immigrant ancestors is the ultimate challenge, because we want to know where our people came from…before America.  Immigrant ancestry research can be difficult,  but it offers real rewards: the chance to explore our Old World roots, and perhaps discover family connections in other countries.

In this class, we’ll  look at the history of immigration in America, and give some tips for finding your immigrant ancestors.
