Local social studies teacher, Mike Giorgianna, will recount the story of George Sears Greene, a Union officer who re-entered the army after working as a civilian civil engineer for 25 years prior to the outbreak of war in 1861.

He will focus on Greene’s life prior to the Civil War and the significant role he played at the battles of Antietam and Gettysburg.
