Discovering Your Family’s Stories

In researching their family trees, people collect their ancestors’ names, plus their dates of birth and death.

This genealogy program focuses on discovering the hidden stories of the lives lived between those dates.

Everyone had a social history, and nobody lived an “ordinary life”.  This  class demonstrates how to find the stories behind the data.

Conversation with the First Ladies

A Conversation with the First Ladies is a biographical dramatization of the lives of Mary Todd Lincoln, Eleanor Roosevelt and Bess Truman, who were thrust into the historical spotlight because they said “I Do” to the men standing next to them.

Hear these three dynamic ladies talk of their lives, loves, fears and husbands.

Internet Genealogy For Beginners

The development of computer-based searches has revolutionized the hobby of genealogy in recent years. The Internet is a powerful tool for quick results in Family Tree research, although there are some pitfalls to be aware of.

One pitfall is the belief that expensive subscriptions are necessary for Family Tree research.  This is not the case.

“Internet Genealogy for Beginners” demonstrates some of the most useful FREE genealogy web sites, including how to use a Norwin Public Library card to access some subscription sites FREE OF CHARGE.

People attending the class will leave with a list of web sites to try at home.

Strange Aspects of the Elusive Bigfoot

Stan Gordon began investigating reports of Bigfoot sightings in Pennsylvania  in the late 1960’s. Since then he has interviewed hundreds of witnesses who claim to have encountered these strange hairy creatures.

Sightings of Bigfoot continue to take place yearly in Pennsylvania and across the country. You will hear about some of the strangest cases ever documented about Bigfoot. You will also hear about the latest Bigfoot encounters around the area.

Health Talk On Diabetes

A Nurse Navigator from Redstone Highlands will be presenting a health talk about Diabetes.

She will present information about diabetes, symptoms, causes and treatments.  If you or a loved one is affected by diabetes, then stop by for some accurate medical advice.

The session will last about 30 minutes with questions and answers after.
